Alright, I’m gonna admit it, I didn’t watch the Golden Globes. Hollywood is way too political now and it just irritates me. I saw Ricky Gervais’ monologue and it was pretty hilarious and that was about it. But I do love the red carpets and fashion so I always check out the looks.
This year I thought I’d do a round-up of my Top Ten looks and, as a fun twist, use them as inspiration for getting their look in real life. All my every day pieces are from SHEIN so they’re all super affordable ( and they have a ton of options). We’ll go from my #10 to #1.
#10. Laura Dern in Saint Laurent
This one got some hate, but I thought it was so classy and interesting. The dress I found for the every day look has the same sheer elements with some beautiful embroidery.
#9. Charlize Theron in Dior Haute Couture
This year was full of bright colors and unexpected details. I thought the green was so fab on Charlize. Add a black tank under this sweater dress and you’ve got a really fun look for a night out.
#8. Helen Mirren in Dior
Helen (is she a Dame yet?) is always stunning. I want to be her when I grow up. This dress was perfect for her. And bonus : she’s wearing these $55 platform booties. I picked a super cute off the shoulder top in the same deep red. I’d pair it with big denim flares.
#7. Lauren Graham in Azzi and Osta
Forever Lorelei Gilmore looked so beautiful in this flowing, draped red number. And I found the perfect jumpsuit inspired by it.
#6. Zoë Kravitz in Saint Laurent
Zoë Kravitz is so gorgeous. Just everything about her. And this mixed polka dot look gave me all the feelings. I adored it. I found a great top and fishtail skirt that gives me the same vibes.
#5. Isla Fisher in Monique Lhuillier
This was another bright, colorful number I was really into. So good with her hair and skin tone. The real life top I found is equally as fun.
#4. Zoey Deutch in Fendi
I mean, come on. This jumpsuit (yes it was jumpsuit!!) with the bubble sleeve, in that yellow. How could it not be on everyone’s list?! I stan this jumpsuit. Also, couldn’t click “add to cart” any faster for this normal girl top.
#3. Phoebe Waller-Bridge in Ralph and Russo Couture
I love PWB. Like, really love her. I binged Fleabag two months ago and it was amazing. She’s so talented and she’s got a very unexpected beauty to her. This tweed suit was everything. She just crushed it. This super cute set gives the same edgy class.
#2. Sofia Carson in Giambastista Valli Haute Couture
Lynie’s idol is Evie (i.e. the beautiful Sofia Carson) and I didn’t even recognize her having this beautiful pink tulle moment. She looks so grown up and gorgeous. The pink makes my heart happy. Found a really sweet top and skirt to pair together to get this vibe.
*drum roll please*
And my favorite look from the 2020 Golden Globes was …
#1. Ana de Armas in Ralph and Russo
I had no idea who this babe was. I looked up her IMDb and she’s in Knives Out (which I still wanna see) and a couple of other things I haven’t seen. But good night, she is stunning. Everything from her hair to her gown to her makeup … perfection. The dress I found inspired by this masterpiece isn’t really “every day” but I am avidly looking for some where I could wear it to because honestly, I just want to live that life for a minute.
So, if you watched the Globes, who were your favorites? Did I miss any or include some you disagreed with? If y’all liked this, maybe we’ll do it again for the Oscars. Let me know.
All the love,
